Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 200 for the second consecutive day on Sunday as 189 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 193 cases on Saturday, 270 on Friday, 252 on Thursday, 237 on Wednesday, and 228 on Tuesday.
Among the new cases, 25 are in the 0-18 age group, which is 13 per cent of the total reported cases.
According to the I & PR department, 113 are from quarantine and 76 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 83 new cases, followed by Jajpur (14) and Mayurbhanj (13). Eleven districts saw nil cases.
Besides, 19 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 59,468 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.31 per cent. The TPR was 0.32 per cent on Saturday, 0.47 per cent on Friday, 0.43 per cent on Thursday, and 0.38 per cent on Wednesday.
While the affected tally has touched 10,50,249, Odisha now has 2,313 active cases.
