Bhubaneswar: After a gap of four days, the daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 200 on Saturday as 193 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 270 new cases on Friday, 252 cases on Thursday, 237 cases on Wednesday, 228 cases on Tuesday, and 197 cases on Monday.
Among the new cases, 23 are in the 0-18 age group, which is 12 per cent of the total reported cases.
According to the I & PR department, 114 are from quarantine and 79 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 88 new cases, followed by, Jajpur (14) and Cuttack (12). Eleven districts saw nil cases.
Besides, 20 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 59,736 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.32 per cent. The TPR was 0.47 per cent on Friday, 0.43 per cent on Thursday, 0.38 per cent on Wednesday and 0.45 per cent on Tuesday.
While the affected tally has touched 10,50,060, Odisha now has 2,383 active cases.
