Bhubaneswar: Declaration of results of Odisha Civil Services (OCS) and Odisha Judicial Services (OJS) examinations are believed to be getting delayed due to the dearth of suitable examiners to evaluate the descriptive papers.
According to sources, Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), which conducted the tests, appeared to have faced difficulty in finding suitable examiners. As a result, the results of OCS and OJS examinations are yet to be published.
As the aspirants are eagerly waiting for the declaration of the results of the mains examinations held in January this year, efforts are being made to get suitable Professors and Associate Professors for evaluation of the papers.
The matter came to light when the OPSC in a communication to the Higher Education department reportedly stated that it was experiencing difficulties for timely evaluation of descriptive papers in OCS and OJS examinations due to non-availability of examiners in the rank of Professors and Associate Professors.
The department was informed the department that finalisation and declaration of results got delayed because of non-availability of suitable evaluators.
The Commission has also requested the department to provide a list of serving faculties of Government colleges and universities in certain disciplines whose services can be spared for ten working days for evaluation on rotation basis.
Sources said that the department, after getting the Commission’s letter, has also written to the Registrars of the state public universities to provide the list of professors and associate professors immediately for appropriate steps.
The aspirants are now waiting for the results of OCS Mains examinations for 2020. While preliminary test for the examination was conducted in 2021, the Mains were held in January 2022. As per the schedule, the results were to be published in August and the interview was slated to be held in September.
The delay has reportedly caused anxiety among a large number of aspirants who claim that the examination is not conducted as per the calendar affecting their preparations for other tests.
