Nuapada: The toll in flood and wall collapse-related incidents amid heavy downpours in Odisha rose to eight with the death of a 65-year-old man in Nuapada district.
The deceased, identified as Trinath Bhoi of Bishibahal village of Michapali panchayat under Komna police limits, died after the walls of his kuccha house collapsed on Thursday night.
Nuapada has been receiving incessant rainfall along with other districts.
Earlier, four persons had died in Mayurbhanj district, two in Keonjhar and one person in Sundargarh district due to drowning and in wall collapse.
Two persons are reportedly missing from Mayurbhanj and Bargarh in similar incidents, SRC Pradeep Jena had said on Thursday.
