Bhubaneswar: A few journalists in Odisha woke up to a threat mail from Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on Saturday.
This comes a couple of days after Pannu threatened to disrupt the ongoing DGP-IGP Conference while declaring that “Bhubaneswar is not a city of temples, rather a city of terror.”
In an audio message sent in the email, the Pro-Khalistani leader slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in the city to attend the pan-India meet. He has declared December 1 as D-Day and warned people of Odisha, not to fly to and from Biju Patnaik International Airport here.

He also asked Khalistani, Naxals, Maoists, Kashmiris to target DGP ‘terror’ conference at Lok Seva Bhawan being attended by host of senior security officials.

Pannun, who heads the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) outfit, announced Rs 25 lakh cash reward for raising Khalistani flag in Bhubaneswar during the event.

A Crime Branch team has also reached the office of a journalist in Bhubaneswar and begun a probe to ascertain the source of the email.
On November 28, Pannun had dared the PM, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to visit Ram Mandir here to meet devotees and urged “Naxals, Maoists, Kashmiri fighters” to disguise and take cover in temples, hotels in the city, prompting Odisha Police to re-evaluate security arrangements.

The extremist, in the threat issued through a video message, further stated that the three axis of evil, Modi, Shah and Doval, are bringing the biggest security threat to Bhubaneswar, while alleging that the conference, under the influence of violent Hindutva ideology, is being held to plan and orchestrate killings of pro-Khalistan Sikhs, Kashmiri fighters, Naxals, and Maoists.
