Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP), Odisha Assembly, Jaya Narayana Mishra on Tuesday urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to declare public holiday on January 22, when Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be inaugurated.
The LoP wrote that the grand consecration ceremony and inauguration of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for the day. “….the whole nation is taking part of it. This occasion is also a matter of joy and great happiness for
people of Odisha,” he said.
He added that all the devotees of Lord Ram will be able to be a part of it if the state government declares January 22 as a public holiday.
Notably, the Odisha government has declared January 17 as public holiday on account of the inauguration of Srimandir Parkrama project in Puri.
