Bhubaneswar: The blood-soaked decomposed body of an unidentified youth was found inside an under-construction drain near Naka Gate in Bharatpur area of Bhubaneswar.
The Bharatpur police have reached the spot and have begun an investigation.
A mobile phone was also found near the body which police have seized.
According to sources, locals spotted the body and informed the police. It has injury marks with the face smashed indicating he was murdered. As the body appeared decomposed and bloated and had a pungent smell, it is being suspected by eyewitnesses that he must have been killed two or three days back.
“Many drug users come to this side. It seems a murder as the body was found on the other side of the wall and how would someone climb the high wall and go the other side in such a condition,” told a resident to media.
Police investigation is underway and the actual cause of the youth’s death will be ascertained after the post-mortem report is received.
