Jharsuguda: Senior BJP leader Tankadhar Tripathi and Deepali Das, daughter of slain Odisha Minister Naba Kishore Das, have crossed swords over the saffron party’s allegation that the ruling BJD is misusing government machinery and staff for holding party events.
Deepali has refuted Tripathi’s allegation that government employees are being engaged by BJD for its programmes and accused him of trying to create hurdles before the good works being done by the party.
In a scathing attack on the ruling BJD, the BJP state secretary had two days ago said that the party has been organising various programmes and meetings with participation of women.
Stating that several events were held on the occasion of women’s day in Laikera, Kirimira and Kolabira areas of Jharsuguda district, the BJP leader alleged that government employees including women master book keepers (MBK) and community resource persons (CRP) were engaged in the meetings.
Alleging that women MBKs and CRPs were threatened and forced to participate in large numbers in the events, Tripathi said BJP has lodged a complaint with the district collector in this regard. The administration was urged to frame guidelines and prevent involvement of government employees in the activities of the ruling party, he said.
Hitting back at the BJP leader, Deepali said that when efforts are being made to do good work, many people are trying to create obstacles in the way.
“However, we don’t care. My father has taught me to do my job sincerely without paying any heed to what others say,” she said.
Deepali said said this while attending an event at H Kantapali in Jharsuguda.
