Bhubaneswar: The dengue situation in Bhubaneswar is under control, Mayor Sulochana Das said on Tuesday.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Das said though the numbers are high, there is no need to panic.
The dengue cases in Bhubaneswar are high because all major hospitals in the state are in the capital city. “People from different parts of the state come to Bhubaneswar, get tested and treated here,” she said.
Stating that Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) personnel are putting in all efforts to check spread of the disease, she requested people to participate in the ‘Dry Day movement’ every Friday and get rid of stagnant water in households and localities.
Speaking about fogging, the Mayor said the activity will resume after rains. She urged people to use mosquito nets and visit a doctor if they have fever.
