Dense Fog To Engulf Odisha For Another 3 Days; Yellow Warning For 20 Districts

Bhubaneswar: Dense fog will continue to engulf several parts of Odisha for another 3 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday.

The weather agency has issued yellow warning for coastal, southern and interior districts till 8.30 am on January 11.

Yellow warning: Dense fog may occur at one or two places in Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Koraput, Rayagada, Angul, and Nabarangpur districts.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at a few places in North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places in remaining parts of the state.

From 8.30 am on Jan 9 to 8.30 am on Jan 10

Yellow warning: Dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada.

Shallow to moderate fog may occur at a few places in Coastal Odisha and at one or two places interior districts of the state.

From 8.30 am on Jan 10 to 8.30 am on Jan 11

Yellow warning: Dense fog may occur at one or two places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Sonepur, and Boudh.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at a one or two places in Kandhamal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Balangir districts.

While dry weather will prevail across the state, there will be no large change in the minimum temperature, which is expected to remain 2-3 degree above normal at many places, it added.

Notably, the night temperature plummeted below 12 degree Celsius at eight places in Odisha in the last 24 hours with G Udayagiri in Kandhamal being the coldest at 7.5 degree Celsius. Dense fog also engulfed Cuttack, Balangir, Rourkela and Phulbani this morning. Shallow and moderate fog was seen in Kendrapada, Baripada, Chandbali, Bhawanipatna and Keonjhar.
