Bhubaneswar: A female student of a private dental college was found hanging in her hostel in Odisha capital on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Moubani Das, a native of Haripal village in Hooghly district of neighbouring West Bengal. She was in second year of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).
Her family, however, is unable to fathom a reason behind her alleged death by suicide. “There was no family dispute or any kind of ragging or study pressure. We don’t know to whom she had made the last phone call. The cops have seized her mobile phone,” said her uncle.
Meanwhile, Bharatpur police have seized the body for postmortem and registered a case of unnatural death.
