Prayagraj: The deputy chief medical officer (CMO) of Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district was found dead in a hotel room on Monday.
Sunil Kumar Singh, who was occupying room No. 106 of Vitthal Hotel in the city, did not respond since morning. The door was forced open and Sunil’s lifeless body was found hanging from the ceiling, reported India Today.
An investigation is underway, with a forensics team inspecting the spot. The hotel is located at Coffee House under the Civil Lines police station.
The 46-year-old Sunil, who hails from Varanasi, was appointed nodal officer for communicable diseases.
He oversaw the COVID-19 immunisation campaign in Prayagraj.
