Bhubaneswar: The devastating impact of the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani will continue for at least five hours from the time of its landfall near Puri coast,
Additional Director General (ADG) of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mrutyunjay Mahapatra informed the media from New Delhi on Friday morning.
While the cyclonic storm will wreak havoc in the coastal districts, its maximum effect will be felt in Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts, where heavy to extremely heavy rainfall with the gale wind speed exceeding 100 kmph will continue till the evening, he aid.
Mahapatra further said that the intensity of the cyclonic storm will gradually subside in the next 24 hours.
