Dhenkanal: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday released a commemorative postage stamp on legendary revolutionary Sarangadhar Das, who is known as Gadajata Gandhi in Odisha.
During a visit to Dhenkanal, the Union Minister also dedicated 23 post offices to the public in Dhenkanal and Angul districts. He also interacted with the beneficiaries of different postal schemes launched by the Union government.
It may be recalled that the Union Minister had in August last year assured the people of the region that a commemorative stamp on Sarangadhar Das would be unveiled.
Speaking on the occasion, Dharmendra recalled that Sarangadhar Das had dedicated his life for the service of the country and donated all his property for the benefit of the society.
The commemorative postage stamp would make the young generation aware of the significant role played by Sarangadhar Das and his ideals, he said.
