Mumbai: From aviation and steel to food, business tycoon Ratan Tata had mastered it all.
However, very few people know that this successful industrialist had once tried his luck in Bollywood too.
Yes, Ratan Tata had teamed up with Bollywood Shehanshah Amitabh Bachchan for a movie named ‘Aetbaar’ in 2004.
The Vikram Bhatt romantic thriller ‘Aetbaar’ starred Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu in lead roles, and had Ratan Tata as a film producer onboard.
The movie, which was an adaptation of the Hollywood film ‘Fear’, was produced under the banner of Tata BSS.
Despite a wonderful producer and star cast, ‘Aetbaar’ failed to succeed at the box office.
The movie, which was made on a budget of Rs 9.5 crore, failed to impress the movie buffs and minted less than Rs 5 crore in its opening week. The Tata group had to bear a part of the losses. This was the only field in which Ratan Tata couldn’t make a mark.
Ratan Tata left for the heavenly adobe on Wednesday night at Breach Candy Hospital, in South Mumbai.
