Bhubaneswar: In order to provide contactless air travel to the passengers, DigiYatra facility was introduced at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Speaking to the media on the facility, BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan said the air passengers can save time with the DigiYatra as they would not have to stand in queue for security check and get boarding pass any more.
“In order to avail the facility, the passengers have to download the DigiYatra App from Play Store and integrate it with details from their Aadhaar cards,” he said.
The passengers can upload the boarding pass on the day of travel and enter the airport without going through any physical contact by using the facial biometric data, he said adding that travel document, required till now, would no more be asked from the passengers having DigiYatra.
The DigiYatra facility was also introduced in eight other airports including Visakhapatnam, Patna, Raipur, Goa (Dabolim), Indore, Ranchi, Coimbatore and Bagdogra on the day.
