Koraput: In a novel gesture, the Odisha Police has requested the Maoists, who were injured during an encounter with the security personnel inside the forest in Narayanapatna block in Koraput district on March 25 this year, for treatment of their injuries.
In a statement to the media on Sunday, Koraput SP KV Singh said four women Maoists were killed in an encounter with the Special Operation Group (SOG) and the District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel during a joint combing operation inside the forest area of Dokari ghat in the evening on March 25.
“However, police has the reports that some Maoists who were injured in the encounter are found moving nearby the forest area. On behalf of the district police, I request these injured Maoists to come for their treatment.
