Berhampur: Concerned over the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases in Berhampur city, the Ganjam district administration has decided to launch doorstep vaccination of senior citizens from Monday.
District collector Vijay Amruta Kulange posted on Twitter that persons aged 75 and above, and those who are physically challenged and have problems reaching the vaccination centre, will be inoculated at their homes.
He said that the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) will come up with standard operating procedure for doorstep vaccination very soon. “Once the SOP is ready, we will inform the people accordingly,” he added.
The total positive cases in the silk city has gone up to 6,299 with 5,900 recoveries, 314 active cases and 85 fatalities.
