Bhubaneswar: The train services between Bhubaneswar and Rourkela is set to offer a new facility with Ministry of Railways likely to run an AC double decker train between the two cities soon.
According to sources, the proposal in this regard was discussed at the meeting of inter-railway time table committee held in Bengaluru recently. It was proposed that the Bhopal-Indore AC double decker train that has been suspended due to lack of passengers will be shifted to Bhubaneswar-Rourkela route.
The train will leave Bhubaneswar in the morning and reach Rourkela in the afternoon. It will have halts at Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Sambalpur city and Jharsuguda railway stations. It will return on the same route and arrive at Bhubaneswar at night, the proposal stated.
The meeting also discussed one more MEMU train between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The final decision on the proposals will be taken after normal train services resume.
