Bhawanipatna: An undertrial prisoner allegedly attempted suicide inside Dharmagarh sub-jail in Kalahandi district by cutting his genitals with a razor blade on Sunday.
The UTP has been identified as Digambar Khamari. He used the razor, which the jail officials had given him for shaving, to end his life by slicing off his genitals, sources said.
He was found in a pool of blood and admitted to Dharmagarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in a critical condition.
Khamari was lodged in the jail in connection with a dowry case, the sources added.
