Bhubaneswar: Noted cardiac surgeon Dr Akshya Kumar Bisoi has been nominated as the new President of AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
According to a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bisoi is nominated as the President of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhunaneswar. He has been nominated in place of Dr Subrat Acharya.
Dr Bisoi, who happens to be Professor of Cardiac Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, is an accomplished surgeon with three decades of professional excellence and innovation, sources said.
He has performed over 32,000 procedures, created and made operational various effective and sustainable models of healthcare.
Recipient of many awards, Dr Bisoi has received seeral laurels, including the prestigious Dr B C Roy Memorial Award, given to eminent medical teachers.
