Bhubaneswar: The Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) has decided to set up seven oxygen plants in Odisha to meet the oxygen requirements of COVID-19 patients.
The plants will be set up on the premises of Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Research Centre in Cuttack and the the district headquarters hospitals in Jharsuguda, Boudh, Koraput, Gajapati and Nayagarh, the Chief General Manager (CGM) of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Odisha branch, RP Panda, told the media on Tuesday.
The oxygen from these plants will be provided to the hospitals through pipes, Panda informed.
The DRDO will set up the plants and NHAI will take up their construction and electrification, he added.
