New Delhi: Candidates can file nominations online for state and by-election polls which will be conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday, wearing face masks during election-related activities is mandatory at a time when coronavirus infections are rising.
The Commission will provide face masks and hand sanitizers to voters, along with facial PPE kits to children accompanying their parents to the polling booths.
These fresh guidelines come at a time when many are wondering whether Bihar Assembly elections – which are due later this year – would be held on time.
Thermal screening will be carried out on all persons at the entrance of halls of premises to be used for election purposes.
