Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Monday grilled Pranab Balabantray, BJD MLA of Dharmasala and son of former Rajya Sabha member Late Kalpataru Das, for over three-and-half hours in connection with his alleged links with the gangster brothers, Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta.

According to sources, the ED officials interrogated Balabantray about the alleged business deal between Dhalasamant brothers and Balabantray Transport And Minerals Private Limited owned by him.

Talking to mediapersons after the end of the interrogation, Pranab said he has submitted all documents asked by the ED. He also claimed that he had no links with the gangster brothers.

Notably, the ED had asked the Dharmasala MLA to appear on May 7 with all relevant documents, including audit reports from 2005 to 2010.

Balabantray had come under CBI scanner for his alleged links in the Artha Tatwa chit fund fraud last year. Prior to this, the state Crime Branch had brought him under the purview of its investigation into the much-talked-about Ghangapatna land scam.
