New Delhi: At least eight people were killed, and several others injured in Haryana when the bus they were travelling in caught fire on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Nuh, PTI reported adding that the accident occurred early Saturday.
The police said that the bus was carrying around 60 people, all of whom were residents of Punjab and Chandigarh and were returning from Mathura-Vrindavan.
Locals noticed the fire, chased the bus, and asked the driver to stop. They also informed the police and the fire department. Further details about the accident are awaited.
Meanwhile, Nuh MLA Aftab Ahmed expressed condolences over the tragic incident. “I would say that this is a very painful, sad, and heart-wrenching incident. The devotees were returning from Vrindavan. The bus caught fire and several people including elderly, women, and children got injured…,” Ahmed told the news agency ANI.
