Baripada: The number of COVID-19 cases in Mayurbhanj district touched 467 on Sunday with 12 fresh cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, eight are local contacts, two are corona warriors and two are in quarantine centres.
The district administration informed that six cases were reported at Sukruli block, two cases each in Jashipur block and Baripada municipality, while Karanjia and Rairangpur blocks reported one case each.
Two persons have travel history to Telangana and Karnataka.
Of the eight local cases, five are from the Sukruli block, another two are from Baripada municipality. Another case that was detected in Cuttack is from Rairangpur block.
The two infected corona warriors were from Jashipur block.
Contact tracing of all the positive cases is underway, the administration tweeted.
With 298 recoveries, Mayurbhanj district has 167 active cases at present.
