Khurda: A farmhouse caretaker was injured in an elephant attack at Rameswar village in Khurda district on Wednesday.
The victim, Pankaj Biswal, is the caretaker of late Chief Minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik’s farmhouse.
Locals took Pankaj to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.
Residents complained that a herd of nine elephants has been wrecking havoc in the area for the past few days.
One the elephants separated from the herd and had entered a farmhouse of the late CM. When Pankaj tried to drive it away, the elephant attacked him.
