Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch seized two elephant tusks and arrested one person, Ramakant Pradhan, a resident of Kalanda village in Parajangpur under Keonjhar police limits.
Ramakant, who is suspected to be a poacher, was arrested during a raid at a place between Patung and Kalanda villages under Keonjhar Sadar limits on Saturday night.
On a search, Ramakant was found in possession of elephant tusks weighing 5.662 kg. As Pradhan could not produce any papers in support of possession of elephant tusks, he was arrested, stated a release by the DFO, Karanjia. Further inquiry is on.
