Puri: After transfer of all valuables from Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri, empty almirahs and chests are slated to be shifted from there on August 23.
According to sources, the empty containers will be taken out of the inner and outer chambers of Ratna Bhandar and kept at Niladri Vihar museum located on the premises of the 12th century shrine.
The shifting process will begin at 1 pm and public darshan will be prohibited till the completion of the entire exercise, officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) said.
The containers will be shifted in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) approved by the state government.
While visitors will not be allowed inside the shrine for darshan, devotees wanting to get Mahaprasad can enter the temple through Singhadwar. After getting Mahaprasad from Anand Bazar, they can exit through north gate.
