Bhubaneswar: The local guardian of the girl student, who allegedly committed suicide on Thursday in a rented accommodation in Odisha capital, on Friday said that she was upset over being thrown out of the hostel of the private engineering college where she was studying.
Sunadha Mandal said that the incident took place about four months back. The college authorities had raised questions on her behaviour and refused to entertain the request of the deceased’s father to allow her to stay in the hostel.
The girl was a native of Tripura.
This incident completely changed her, Mandal said, while admitting that she was in bad friend circle.
On the male friend, who was detained by police, she said that he had helped them a lot during the incident.
On the fateful day, the friend had rushed to the spot after she did not respond to his phone calls. They had an argument that day as he earlier could not take her call, But by the time he reached the place, she had already committed suicide. The girl was found hanging from the ceiling of the house.
The male friend told the media that she was depressed over some financial and personal matters.
