Ensure Access To Justice For Poor: CM To Police Officers

Cuttack: The police should ensure access to justice for poor people of the society and provide people-friendly service, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while inaugurating the 83rd Odisha Police foundation day in Cuttack on Sunday.

Expressing concern over the crimes against women, the Chief Minister said, “Proactive steps should be taken to make the women cells at SP offices and child and women desks at different police stations more active. The inspectors should also lay special emphasis to activate the reception desks at police stations across the state.”

Stating that instances of financial and cyber crimes have become a challenge for Odisha police, the CM said that his government has plans to set up more cyber police stations in different districts of the state to tackle the situation.

On the occasion, Naveen felicitated as many as 100 police officers of different ranks including Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi, Mangalabag police station inspector-in-charge Arun Kumar Swain, Mitrendra Nath Sinha for rendering outstanding services.

Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma and other senior police officers were present.
