Mumbai: A little-known outfit called Jaish-ul-Hind has reportedly claimed responsibility for placing explosive materials in a vehicle outside billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s house in Mumbai three days ago.
The organisation owned up via a message sent on Telegram app.
“The brother who placed the SUV near the Ambani house has reached the safe house. This was just a trailer and big picture is yet to come,” read the message, according to a report by India Today.
Jaish-ul-Hind also demanded money through Bitcoin, the report added.
A Scorpio, with gelatin sticks inside it, was found parked near ‘Antilia’, Ambanis’ multi-storeyed luxurious house on Carmichael Road on February 25. There was 2.5 kg of gelatin sticks in the vehicle, according to police sources.
According to police, the Scorpio was leant to have stolen from Mulund area a week ago and had a fake number plate.
CCTV footage revealed that that the Scorpio and an Innova reached the spot in the early hours of Thursday. The driver of Scorpio got down and boarded the Innova, which left the scene.
A letter found inside the Scorpio purportedly threatened Ambani and his family. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police is investigating the case.
