Jharsuguda: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Friday recovered a huge cache of explosives from Alleppey-Dhanbad Express at Jharsuguda Road railway station.
According to available information, passengers of the train noticed smoke emanating from a suspicious-looking plastic bag that was lying unclaimed and immediately alerted the police.
Being informed, railway police rushed to the spot and recovered seven detonators from the bag and later threw the explosives outside the station.
Following the incident, railway DSP and Jharsuguda SDPO have started investigation to trace the owner of the bag and the purpose behind procurement of the detonators.
On April 20, a bag containing eight powerful dynamites were seized by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express at Brajrajnagar station in Jharsuguda district. The bag was found under a seat in the train.
