Bhubaneswar: As part of its ‘zero fail mission’ under Ujjwal, Uttthan and Utkarsh programme, the Odisha government on Thursday decided to conduct extra classes in all primary schools during summer vacation.
School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said teachers, who have rotation duty in their respective primary schools during summer vacation, will take extra classes for the students who are weak in specific subjects and secure less than 35% marks.
This will help the students to score better marks in these subjects, he added.
The Minister said that students tend to ignore their studies during the summer vacation and the extra classes will help them stay in touch with the subjects.
Allaying the apprehension of the teachers, he said that the duration of the summer vacation for the primary schools will remain as usual.
