Mumbai: As Kartik Aaryan relishes the success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, he says it feels “surreal”.
The Anees Bazmee-directed film has crossed the Rs 100-crore mark within 9 days of its release in theatres.
“I knew the film would do well, but couldn’t have imagined it like this,” Aaryan said, lauding the film’s team and makers for its success.
“I owe the success to the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, who worked on it so passionately for 3 years. Secondly, the makers who delivered their vision of this entertainer so phenomenally and most importantly, the ones who have been pouring it with so much love – the audience, as they have accepted us with their whole hearts,” he said.
So has he hiked his fees after delivering a hit, as reports have suggested?
Aaryan took to Twitter on Monday to clarify his position.
“Promotion hua hai life mein increment nahi (I have been promoted in life, haven’t received an increment),” he wrote with a laughing emoji.
According to Bollywood insiders, Aaryan has been charging between Rs 15 to 20 crore per film of late, while reports suggested that he will henceforth be demanding Rs 35-40 crore.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which was released in theatres on May 20, also stars Kiara Advani and Tabu.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has collected Rs 122.69 crore till date, and may touch Rs 200 crore.
