A viral photo of former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, dressed in a monk’s robe and with a shaved head, is doing the rounds on social media.
Dhoni, famous for his trendy hairdos, is supporting a bald look in the photo. Many Facebook users have posted the photo with captions saying Dhoni has converted to Buddhism.
However, the claim is misleading. The photograph is real, but it is for an ad campaign for the upcoming IPL by the T20 league’s broadcaster Star Sports, which has certainly created a flutter among Dhoni’s fans.
Dhoni’s friend and business partner, Arun Pandey, has also dismissed the claim about the wicketkeeper-batsman converting to Buddhism to India Today.
