Mumbai: Sridevi was one of Bollywood and the South film industry’s most loved heroines.
Considered by many to be India’s first female film superstar, some of Sridevi’s fans have longed for a biopic on their favourite artiste since she drowned to death in a Dubai hotel six years ago.
There were rumours recently also about a film on the life of Sridevi.
However, her husband Boney Kapoor dismissed such talk and said in an interview that his wife was a very private person.
“She was a very private person, and her life should remain private. I don’t think there ever will be (a biopic). Till the time I live, I will not allow this to happen,” Boney told DNA.
Interestingly, Boney, one of Bollywood’s successful film producers, is currently preparing for the release of a biopic titled ‘Maidaan’. Directed by Amit Sharma, the film features Ajay Devgn in the role of renowned football coach Abdul Rahim and his struggle to put together a team to represent India.
Produced by Zee Studios, Boney, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla, the film will be released in theatres on April 10.
