Berhampur: Family members of a six-month-old ransacked Buguda community health centre (CHC) in Odisha’s Ganjam district late on Wednesday following his death after vaccination.
According to sources, Magi Naik’s six-month-old child was vaccinated at the CHC at 11.30 am on Wednesday. The child fell ill after returning home at Neliabandha Sahi in Buguda. In the evening when the infant’s body became cold, family members rushed him to the CHC where he was declared dead.
“Our child was fine when he was brought to the health facility for vaccination. He fell ill after vaccination and passed away in the evening,” the inconsolable mother told the media.
They then created a ruckus, alleging that wrong vaccination led to his death.
Police soon reached the spot and pacified the family members.
