Dhenkanal: The famous Magha Mela will start at the Mahima Gaadi of Joranda in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Tuesday, February 15, following all COVID guidelines. The fair will close on February 17.
A meeting was held for the preparation of the mela which was attended by the District Administration officers, Police, Bakaladhari Mahima Samaj and Koupindhari Mahima saints.
It was decided to do away with the cultural programme, Jatra, Mina Bazar, Swing or Exhibition this time in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides the traditional lighting of the lamp and the rituals, the fair will see the participation of only saints and the followers of Mahima Dharma.
Restrictions have been imposed on the saints joining from outside the state due to COVID-19.
