Mumbai: Amid the ongoing tussle between the Mumbai and Bihar police over the investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput death case, a die-hard fan of the actor has moved the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), seeking its intervention to ensure a ‘fair probe’.
According to a Republic TV report, petitioner Ashish Rai, a law student at Mumbai University, has filed a plea under ‘The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993’ citing sections 14, 17 and 37, demanding a fair investigation into the death of the Bollywood actor.
“I would like to bring to your urgent notice, being a Citizen of India and as the biggest fan of late legendary Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput with the deep agony and heart-wrenching pain towards the injustice done with his case and his millions of worldwide fans. His fans last wish is a fair investigation in the case,” stated the petitioner,” he wrote.
The petitioner further stated that the tussle between the Mumbai and Bihar police was ‘hindering’ the citizens’ right to justice.
Thus, he appealed the NHRC to intervene in the case.
“The National Human Rights Commission should intervene and take appropriate action under The Protection Of Human Rights Act, 1993,” wrote the petitioner in his letter.
“We request the NHRC to take action under Suo Motu Cognizance regarding the unnatural death case of Bollywood Actor Sushant Singh Rajput. In the context of the investigation in the entire matter, special inquiry teams of the National Human Rights Commission should be formed,” he demanded.
Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14. The actor didn’t leave any suicide note.
