New Delhi: Incidents of sexual harassment have reached the skies with a female passenger onboard a Delhi-Chennai IndiGo flight accusing her co-passenger of molesting her.
The female passenger alleged that her co-passenger, a 43-year-old man from Rajasthan, tried to touch her inappropriately while she was asleep in her seat.
The victim raised an alarm and later filed a complaint against him when the flight landed in Chennai at 4.30pm.
Following the complaint, the man was arrested and a case registered against him under section 75 (sexual harassment) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
“The woman has registered a complaint that she was in a window seat and while she was asleep, the accused who was sitting behind her – also in the window seat – touched her inappropriately,” an officer at the All Women’s Police Station attached to the airport in Meenambakkam told Hindustan Times.
However, the airline is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
