New Delhi: Football’s world governing body FIFA on Friday lifted the suspension imposed earlier this month on All India Football Federation (AIFF) because of undue third-party influence.
FIFA’s decision clears doubts over India’s hosting of the Under-17 Women’s World Cup from October 11-30, 2022.
Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium will stage India’s group league matches. The other two venues are Nehru Stadium in Margao and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
In a media release, FIFA took the decision after receiving confirmation that the mandate of Committee of Administrators, that was set up to assume powers of the AIFF executive committee, had been terminated. However, FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will continue to monitor the situation.
