Fighting COVID-19: Karnataka Suspends Entry Of Travellers From 5 Worst-Hit States

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government, headed by chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa, has taken a tough stand to check the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. They took a decision on Thursday to suspend arrival of flights, trains and vehicles from five states in Karnataka.

The states which are on Karnataka’s ‘no entry’ list are Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. These five states are among the worst-hit in India with Maharashtra reporting a total of 56948 coronavirus cases so far, Gujarat 15195, Tamil Nadu 18544, Madhya Pradesh 7261 and Rajasthan 7703.

Karnataka took this stand after the number of cases in the state crossed the 2,500 mark on Thursday.

As for the figures in the entire country, there are 86,110 active cases till date while 67,691 people have recovered and 4531 have died.
