Dhenkanal: Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal,will witness a milieu of seminar, discussion, workshop, screening of films during Filmi Chakkar, starting January 14.
Experts from different parts of the country will deliberate on the theme ‘Cinema in the age of OTT’ at this three-day event.
On the inaugural day, a seminar will discuss the changing dynamics of cinema through the online streaming services, popularly known as Over the Top (OTT) platforms, compared to its traditional version.
Himanshu Khatua, Director-School of Mass Communication, KIIT University, eminent author and former Regional Director of IIMC Amaravati Dr. Nadeem Khan, National Award winning film writer Dr. Piyush Roy, Professor at St. Xavier’s University, Kolakata and film Director Utsav Chatterjee and writer and Head of Hindi of Sambapur Women’s College Dr. Jayanta Kar Sharma will deliver key note addresses in different sessions of the seminar.
Various academicians and scholars will also present their papers around the theme.
A film appreciation course will be organized on the last two days.
Professor and Regional Director, IIMC, Dr. Mrinal Chatterjee said, “This three daylong event will benefit the students interested in film journalism and others interested in films in general.”
