Cuttack: Two unidentified miscreants looted Rs 33,000 from an employee of a finance company near Trisulia in Baranga of Cuttack district on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Kalucharan Khandagiri.
According to available information, two bike-borne miscreants intercepted the victim’s motorcycle while he was on the way home after withdrawing the money from a bank. They attempted to snatch away the bag containing money. When Kalucharan tried to resist the loot, the criminals attacked him with a knife and decamped with the cash.
The victim sustained injuries in the attack and later lodged a complaint regarding the loot at Baranga police station.
Police have started conducting raids at different places in the district to nab the looters.
