Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday appointed globally-renowned Fintech thought leader and market reformer Sopnendu Mohanty as advisor, Digital and Financial Technology. He has been allocated the rank of minister of state.
Mohanty is the Chief FinTech Officer, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Singapore. Prior to joining MAS, he was with Citibank and held various positions across multiple global offices. During his time in Citibank, he also co-authored several patented works in the area of retail distribution of financial sector.
He is on the Institutional Investor’s list of influential FinTech global dealmakers and was named the Market Reformer of the Year by International Financial Law Review, Euromoney, in 2018.
According to government press release, Mohanty will collect feedback from beneficiaries of various state government projects and submit it to concerned departments through their respective ministries. He will also provide feedback regarding proper implementation of projects to ministers.
