Ahmedabad: Around 125 patients were evacuated from a hospital in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad city after a massive fire broke out in the second basement of the 10-storey facility early on Sunday.
As per preliminary information, several items stored in the basement of Rajasthan Hospitals, where renovation work was underway, in Sahibaug area caught fire and caused massive smoke around 4.30 am. Firefighting operations are currently underway.
There has been so far no report of any casualty, inspector M D Champavat from Sahibaug police station told the PTI.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
