Paradip: A major disaster was averted at a petrol depot in Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) premises here on Sunday afternoon with the deployment of personnel from the Fire Brigade services of the state government, Paradip IOCL fire services wing, and the local fire safety terminal.
The mishap occured when a train was leaving IOCL depot after loading oil due to sparks from the engine causing fire at the fuel point. Personnel were called in from the IOCL fire wing and the state government’s Fire services department at Paradip.
Although some petrol pipelines were damaged in the incident, exact losses in the mishap are yet to be ascertained.
