Puri: A major fire broke out at a multi-storeyed hotel located on VIP road in Puri late on Monday night.
While the extent of damage is not yet known, there was no loss of life as the guests and employees were evacuated soon after the fire broke out.
The fire originated from maintenance room of ‘Pride Ananya Resort’ Hotel and quickly spread to six other rooms of the hotel causing damage to the properties worth several lakhs of rupees.
Following information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
“We are trying to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. However, we suspect electrical short circuit could be the cause of the incident”, a fire official said.
