Bhanjanagar: Assets worth over lakhs were destroyed after fire broke out at Bank of India (BOI)’s Pailipada branch in Odisha’s Ganjam district late on Wednesday.
Locals noticed thick smoke billowing out of the Bank office late in the night and informed the Fire Brigade that rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
Several documents and electronic equipment were completely gutted.
While the cause of the fire was not known, the fire officials suspect a short circuit could be the reason.
